On July 8, 2024 the Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced yet another draw. This category based express entry draw was for French Speaking applicants and is the fourth Express Entry draw this month. The draw invited 3,200 ITAs with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 420.
• ITA – 3200
• CRS score – 420
This draw comes on the heels of three draws held last week between July 2 and 5. On July 2, IRCC conducted a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-only draw and invited 920 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 739. After which the next two draws were category-based Express Entry draws with the first on July 4 granting 1,800 ITAs to candidates in trade occupations and the second on July 5 inviting 3,750 candidates in healthcare vocations.
The month of July has been exceptionally active for Express Entry draws. In July we have witnessed the IRCC holding draws every second week and averaging two to four each month. The last time there were four draws in a single month was in April and February has been the busiest month of the year so far with six.
Canada places a lot of importance on cultural regulations thus the French-proficiency draws are always higher. This year it is estimated to account for 30% of all ITAs given in category-based selection draws. To date, the IRCC has granted 15,600 ITAs to qualified individuals in this category. This emphasis on French language ability demonstrates the Canadian government's commitment to promoting bilingualism and attracting competent immigrants who can help the country's linguistic diversity and economic progress.

The Express Entry Draws are conducted by the IRCC to help the skilled workers relocate to Canada with ease. There are three main categories in the program – Federal Skilled Workers Program, Federal Skilled Traders Program and Canadian Experience Class. However, in May 2023 in addition to the regular draws the IRCC has also introduced the category based express entry draws and the applicants whose occupations are in demand can relocate through these draws.
