In May, the IRCC announced that it would conduct draws in certain specific categories to select applicants in occupations where there is a high demand for labour. These occupations are expected to strengthen the economy and promote the French language outside of Quebec.
The first category-based draw of 2023 was conducted on June 28, and it was in the healthcare category. Till now, there have been draws conducted in each category except in Agriculture and agri-food.
Express Entry program is the most convenient way to move to Canada for a skilled worker. It allows immigration in the fastest way possible with six to eight months of processing. The section of the applicants is points-based, and those who meet the minimum CRS score are given the ITAs.
The three sub-categories under this program are - the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The applicant can apply through any of the three categories provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
