The latest Express Entry draw by IRCC was announced on July 12. A total number of 3800 applicants got invited to the French Language category-based draw, where the minimum Comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score was set at 375 points.
Prior to this, an all-program express entry draw was held on July 11, in which 800 applicants got selected in an all-program draw. The minimum CRS score of 505 was set in this draw. It is significantly higher than the three category-based selections in the previous week. The July 4 draw asked for a CRS score of 511.
The IRCC held four consecutive draws between July 4 – 7. On July 4, an unexpected all-program draw invited 700 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 511. This is the highest CRS score required in 2023 so far.
The second draw was on July 5, and 500 applicants from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) occupations got selected with the minimum CRS score of 486 points. The draw is expected to take place well in advance.
The third draw of the week was on July 6, in which 1500 applicants got selected in the category-based selection draw for healthcare professionals. The cut-off score was set at 463 points.
The Fourth Draw was held on July 7, and ITAs got issued to 2300 applicants with French Speaking abilities and a minimum score of 439 points.
On June 27, the IRCC invited 4300 appellants in the all-program draw with the minimum CRS score of 486 points. Then the next day, on June 28, the IRCC conducted the first-ever category-based draw and selected 500 applicants with work experience in healthcare occupation and a minimum CRS score of 476 points.
As per Bill C-19, the category-based selections in the express entry draw have become a norm that will help select in-demand occupations as economic immigrations to promote the Canadian economy. There will also be measures taken to promote the French language outside the Quebec region.
The newcomers in Canada will not have specific attributes of language and work experience rather than merely focusing on the CRS score.
As per the target for 2023, the IRCC plans to admit 82,880 new permanent residents to Canada through the express entry Program.
